Dear Brethren and Friends,

It has been my privilege for the last 21 years to teach a grief support class in the area in
which I have lived. Some 600 people have attended this class, and I have learned so much
from these people who have helped me, others, and hopefully themselves, by sharing their grief. I am grateful to the elders for allowing me to conduct a series of six classes at Pulaski Street, beginning Thursday night, October 17th, and concluding Thursday night, December 5th. The classes will begin at 6:30 and end each night at 8:00. We will meet on Thursday nights but will skip October 31st and November 28th because of those being holidays.

The topics we will discuss include:
* “Grief 101 – What is Grief?”
* What do I Need to Know about Grief?
* The Emotions and Phases of Grief
* What Does the Bible say about Grief?
* Grief and the Holidays
* How to Make it Through the Grief Journey

The handouts and class are free and open to anyone who has lost a loved one or have had
other losses in life they are dealing with. It would be helpful if you would turn in your

Grief Seminar:
Who: Taught by Don Williams, co-author of
Walking With Those Who Weep.
What: A series of studies designed to inform and help individuals at various stages of
grieving to better understand and persevere through the reality of this human experience.
When: *No session on October 31 (Halloween). Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The first class will be October 17, and classes will continue through December 5, 2013.* (date corrected from last week’s bulletin) *No session on November 28 (Thanksgiving).Light refreshments will be available.
