Those of us who have entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ have not only been brought to God, but we have also been brought together.  We have been brought together like stones in a building (1 Pet. 2:4-10), parts of a body (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:12-31; Eph. 1:22-23), and members of a family (Eph. 2:18-21; 1 Tim. 3:15).  God brought us together because He knows that we are better together.  God knows that we need each other to maximize our potential in bringing glory to Him, to become more like Christ, and to reach out to a lost and dying world.

It is vitally important that Christians understand and appreciate the necessity of being involved in the worship and work of a local congregation.  Contrary to the view of some people, a Christian cannot be pleasing to Christ if he or she refuses to love and commune with Christ’s people.  Our prayer is that God will bless this congregation this year as we carefully consider what it looks like to live the Christian life together rather than alone.  Without question, we are better together than we are apart.
