Christian Counseling Service of Agape is located in the offices of the Pulaski Street Church of Christ in the Parkes House. The Parkes House is located on the corner of Taylor Street and South Locust Avenue ~ at 129 South Locust Avenue. Most insurance is accepted, and payment is based on the patient’s ability to pay. Anyone may call for an appointment at 762-8502. Leave a message on the answering machine any time, and your call will be returned. Office hours are Thursdays from 2pm to 8pm. Please be aware that, with only one day available in Lawrenceburg, there may be a wait before an appointment is available.

David Amonette received his Bachelor’s Degree from David Lipscomb University in 1963, and earned his MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 1967. He is licensed in the state of Tennessee as an LCSW and is licensed in the state of Alabama as an LCSW and as an Independent Practitioner. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and is a Registered Clinician by the Association for Treatment in the Attachment of Children.

He has worked with abandoned, abused, and neglected children for the past thirty-nine years in a variety of settings. He has supervised adoptive homes, foster homes, group homes, residential treatment centers, and emergency shelters. He has been a therapist for children, families, and individuals. He has specialized in children who have failed adoptions and have trouble bonding with parental figures. He has lectured regarding Post Traumatic Stress, Bipolar Disorder, Effective Parenting Styles, Vicarious Traumatization of Helping Professionals, and Reactive Attachment Disorder at more than thirty different conferences in the southeast and nationally.

Receptionist Cindy Gobbell has worked with the Christian Counseling Service office since March of 2003. She is very personable and extremely capable and will be glad to help you with an appointment. Cindy lives in Lawrenceburg.
